No, I don't own a VW yet but just give me time. My wife and I use to own a '69 Westy many years ago and I've been recently dying to own another one. So figured I'll join a forum to help inspire me to get one.
My goal is to get a mid 80's that is in a decent running condition, so I can just get up and go camping. These past 2 years, we rented a Westy from California Campers and figured it was time to get serious. I saw a very nice mid 80's in a parking lot and the owner told me they joined this forum to help them find their rig and it worked out.
Hopefully I won't have to sell my '68 Mustang or my '50 chebbie truck in order to finance the Westy project. Maybe I'll just sell the wife. LOL. |

You might ask WCC- how much they spend on their "new to them " campers for rent before they rent them- give you some idea what it will cost to get you "soon to be yours" new bus up and reliable.
Go and lurk the vanagon section so you have an idea what to look for when getting yours. _________________ some days I get up and just sit and think. Some days I just sit.

Well hello from Downtown SF (Nob Hill).
Let me know if you find any cool events around this way - they all seem up in Sacramento... |

Yeah, Hi from the Sunset District.
At the event in Antioch a while back, I got a flyer for an event _in San Francisco_
disclaimer: I've never been, and I don't have any other connection with it, except having a flyer with the announcement.

I guess for more info check the book of faces for DeutschlandDubs _________________ Jason |

Thanks for the replies. Yes, I should keep an eye out for local VW gatherings. And yes I am snooping in the mid latter 80's board to get educated.
I've been away from the VW world for such a long time. This is a nice change. |
