What do you mean by "cupped end for rod"? I am having a hard time telling the difference. Could you please show me what you mean so that I get the correct one for my 60. |

Does anyone have any idea about these two? I don't think they are KDF/VW but I'm not sure. I think one may even be pre-war.
Cheers! |
Lucian,
The top one is for a Leighter Einheits Pkw (Stoewer, BMW, Hanomag and Mercedes from WW2.)

This is the jack in my beetle, not sure if its the correct one for the car.
Also i have always wondered if it has a special place to be stored or it right at home floating around in under the bonnet.
Not the best pictures

Did any of the jacks come with a straight, unbent rod for a handle? I have found a couple of them and wondering if they were just from something else?
Thanks

I got this one two days ago.
Can anybody confirm this is a 1949 VW jack?
No VW sign on it.
The black I had before.
Would it be pre 1949?

I would say your black is 1948-49 (the first beetles with square jacking points) and the "brown" is updated version for 1949-50. |

it is still labeled still are wrong. the pic is currently showing early style bay jacks.
note the two styles in this photo: split on top, early bay on bottom

still incorrect.
the size of the indents on the peg are different. also, the bay jacks have a tang to keep the peg from pivoting all the way up.
note the two styles in this photo: late split bus on top, early bay on bottom
later early bay on top, earlier early bay on bottom.
