Picked up this early 56 PG/SG unit the other day. Note the solid Palm Green front bumper. As far as I can tell it's OG paint.

Awesome find! Do you know why the left rear corner seems to have OG paint, but is much less sunbaked? _________________ My 1958 PGSG project topic |

Not sure. My best guess is cause it was pulled from the forest and maybe that corner was sheltered better? _________________ 53 Canadian standard oval

awesome!
corner looks like an early repaint to me. has some weird primer showing through where it looks like the paint is flaking off. I've never seen og paint flake off..only rust off or wear off (like the rest of the bus). _________________ drive your split. |

Yeah, that sounds very plausible indeed. I think the whole rear end is repainted when it comes to the sandgreen.
Love those tires btw! _________________ My 1958 PGSG project topic |

I don't think it's an Aussie thing. Look at the Canadian 56 I found a few posts up. Same bumper color combo. _________________ 53 Canadian standard oval

the bumper on your bus looks all green trevor? the aussie bus has sand green ribs.
definitely odd, and usually I hate flip flopped bumper colors but that doesnt look too bad. would be nice to see it without all that nonsense hanging off the front. _________________ drive your split. |

Hard to tell but is the same as the Aussie bus. The sand green has mostly worn off. _________________ 53 Canadian standard oval

They all start out OG but flip when they cross the equator. |
