I just traded for this rail , it has tuning fork style trailing arm the right swing axle bearin housing appears to be a original vw part with the bump stop arm on it, the left housing has the bolt holes oriented a little different and has no bump stop arm, question is where can I get another housing like the left one?

I have no idea about whats been done to it, it does have the adapter plate for and exhaust for a chevy 4.3 v-6. those links only show the housings with the bump stop arms, do they make one without or do I need to cut them off, if you look at my pics, the left one has no bump stop arm?

The part you're referring to as a bump stop is actually the stock lower shock mounting point. I would guess that; unless a part already exists which doesn't have the mount, that they just cut it off of the housing when they did the coil over conversion.

If it is a special made part just for that conversion, I have no idea where you'd find one at though unless somebody has one just lying around gathering dust somewhere.

Umm..... Dont see any bump stops, but what I do see is it looks like passenger side has long axle and a short axle on drivers side (could be just a visual because of image shadow and shock angle), .... Would also appear the passenger side was replaced after buggy was painted by somebody that did not follow the fabrication/design characteristics (see lower shock mounts - shock angles) of original build .... Not necessarily bad, just odd.... Needs to be refabed so both sides match....

Bump stop pads on axle are a non issue on this application as you have nothing at this point to contact them that I can see.... Also angle/location of brake calipers suggest right side was just a patch up repair job....
