I have a '67 912 with a vw 1600 and have found a complete engine from a '69 912. Will I run into many differences putting the '69 engine in the car? From my limited experience I'm sure this a rookie question. I'm a bus guy and just want to make sure I'm not over seeing an obvious problem. I really want Porsche power in this car even though the vw runs great. Thoughts and advice please and thank you.

As long as the 912 engine is complete it should go right in no issues. If any changes were done it should have been done on the vw engine side of things. 912's are fun to drive. Have fun with it.

Nice cars! Smile
Between 67 and 69 Porsche 912 engine small difference. If you have a photo of the existing engine, please upload a picture here. It helps a lot.

Greetings: Zoli

My only photo of the 912 lump my friend has offered up, tomorrow he will dig it out and sends pics and price. Last ran in 1994 when he unfortunately rolled his car.

should go in fine, just while it's out check it over as it's easy to work on..

I take it the engine turns and is or was a runner?

I would part tear it down to do a big service and replace o rings and seals where they are common and leak.

if your really keen you could whip the heads off and check for any damage that may be starting and de coke it all at the same time. you can check the rings or !

replace the rings and hone the barrels seek advice from an engine machine shop..

check end float as well..

good luck
