Does anyone have some information on the Marauder? It's a friends buggy and I did find enough pictures to compare and its a marauder. Now I need a few things:
1. Windshield
2. Side pods
3. Really good pictures of the body because his has been cut up pretty good. Made it really hard to tell what it was. Thought it was a Bounty Hunter.

Anyway, appreciate all the help. Now that I have it the I.D. I just need more information that I just can't find.

Thanks,
Lee

The Marauder is a Bounty Hunter copy. Do a search on Bounty Hunter and Deserter GT.

Windshield is from a Renault Dauphine. I have the info on a supplier somewhere at home. They ain't cheap by any stretch. As for side pods good luck. If they are the same as a Bounty Hunter I have a set for my Buggy and know a guy who gets glass parts made all the time. I was thinking about getting molds made for the pods and roof but we'll have to see about that.

Although I have never seen a Marauder in person, I believe it is a 84 in wheelbase car similar to the Deserter GT based on some old Sales Sheets with specs?

If it is a Marauder, the side tanks would be interchangeable with a Deserter GT and available, at least out on the East coast, shiiping wouldnt be fun.

I have never seen any of the shorter 80 in wheelbase side tanks as used on the Bounty Hunter available in the last 30 years or so.

As stated earlier, the glass is Renault Dauphine and also still avaiable in the $200-400 range with shipping.

If you can post pictures it would help.

More information is available at www.deserterownersgroup.org

Good luck.

I am almost positive it's a marauder. It has been chopped up a lot. The front has been cut up and the rear end trimmed off. There is a tab that hangs down in the front between the pieces that stick out under the headlights. A friend has had it for the past 15 plus years and never really did anything with it. He would like to fix it up. I will get some good pictures posted ASAP. Ill try tonight.

Thanks for all the info.

If it uses the same style windshield posts as the Deserter than be aware that they are difficult/impossible to find.

Just got this from a buddy in the UK

"East Coast Buggies is still going strong. He's got the moulds for at least 5 buggy kits and he turns out a top product. He's Rob Kilham on FB if you want to check him out."

The Deserter was a licensed version and the Marauder was not, I do have some info in my files, shoot me an email at [email protected] and Ill email you some cool stuff on it, I even have some pics of it being mocked up prior to the molds ! The Frigging smoking gun! - complete with the Deserter emblem on it no less. They were shots sent to someone requesting info on the Marauder kit ! How blatant was that LOL

Make sure he keeps it a Marauder though, there are so very few examples and most folks would probably cut the flares off and you wouldn't know them from Adam.
