Very nice indeed - I am loving that quick crank start
What did you use for the oil washes?
Dave |
Thanks mate, I was surprised how easy it started too. Awesome engine so far.
As for the washes, I used liquimoly
http://www.liqui-moly.com.au/products/oil-additives/
And also did one with the wynns range
http://www.wynns.net/product/i/engine-flush
U add it to the oil an let it run for a while, it says 15mins, I did 25-30 just so the motor was warm _________________ shiny paint doesnt make it worth any more |

Black cleaned off well to reveal the og paint!!
Front bar I won't touch.
Front bar I won't touch, will look good on the bus together, just a pity about the holes.

Here's some pics of the doors since it went I tot he rotisserie, it will be coming off it again soon to go onto stands or back on the suspension until the bulkhead goes back in..
Had a win with these too. Matt Miller covers on new frames by Gabor Bitto. Been in a box for a while so needs some sun and heat to get them to be wrinkle free and stretch out a little more.

I knew u would like that stealthy!
Thanks Barry, I had to use some brain to figure it out so I didn't ruin the covers, not hard but very time consuming. _________________ shiny paint doesnt make it worth any more |

Been dreading this job since day one, wasn't too sure how and if it would come apart.
Months of soaking in diesel to penetrate the joins, used a impact drive to try to undo the screws with no luck, so drill and soaked the holes again with another penetrant.
Ended up applying heat an more heat to the joins which eventually freed them up!
Now to tackle the next problem, hinge isn't that crash hot..

Checked the other one out and it's seal wasn't rubber anymore so had to take it apart as well. Wasn't looking forward to it either.
2 top screws actually came out!
Bottom ones stripped, so drill an will have to re-tap them.
No seal, shrank and hard...
Slowly coming apart, lots of heat and something to penetrate!
And job done again!!
Now I have glass to use as a template for new ones! _________________ shiny paint doesnt make it worth any more |
