The first of many test fits of the long panel. We threw it up there just to see what we were working with.
Enjoy

Pics are worth a thousand words...
If your going to go the route of blasting again after all the sheet metal is straightened out be careful of the soda blasting concept and the wet blast concept...neither would apply to this project...I know what you have over that way as far as blast shops.
Keep up the excellent progress on the thread! _________________ www.blastserv.com

Why not those process would apply to this project? Just curiosity of a near-ignorant metal worker...

Soda rates on the Moh scale of hardness around 2.5-3...the steel is around 7. Shooting sodium bicarbonate will not clean the rust flash off...it only strips paint and creates no etch.
Wet blasting...well water and any type of media wether it be glass or some other type of abrasive mixed and shot at an auto of any type creates the problem of a slurry in any blind cavity that dries and remains a problems after it is painted. The internet has plenty of videos showing the results and they are all skewed based on interest in selling equipment, not doing the right thing for the individual project. _________________ www.blastserv.com

Are you planning on flattening out the drain dimples on the long side rocker? I have a Gerson rocker that I need to de-dimple, and I've been procrastinating taking the hammer to it for fear of creating a wavey mess. |

It's really upsetting to see how shop #1 wasted expensive parts by putting them on wrong. It's even more upsetting to see how they returned the Barndoor in bare metal like that. They know what happens to a Bus if it's exposed to the elements in bare metal. Makes me wonder what inspired them to let a Barndoor rust like that. You can't afford to have a bad reputation in this business, especially with Barndoors since it's such a closely knit scene. Paying to have everything fixed out of their own pocket would have been the smart thing to do. _________________ Check my classifieds for kewl gauges:

I honestly think that all the "Talk" about shop #1 and shop #2 and bla bla is a total B.S. Waste of time. The only people that would know the Truth about this Situation would be The owner of the bus the owner of "Shop #1" and Stratton All other talk is trash talk and a waste of time.... I highly doubt that a shop like "shop #1" would be capable of bumping out the Tom Tom Deluxe. But cant handle this. This bus was not finished Before you talk B.S. read the thread at KCW. To educate yourself on why it is in bare metal. Who knows what happens to shit during shipping. The bus is getting fixed To the owners specifications and that is all that matters. Read a little before you type. _________________ LOVE splits more than Jean-Claude Van Damme |

As we all know pictures don't lie and I think most people would agree that if you start off bad it's hard to make nice results in the end....just because shop #1 had good results on the barndoor deluxe doesn't mean that they had the same employees working on this one ...different people same shop different results... _________________ (20-024785)Ambulance (20-037784)truck (20-035850)panel
