I have been working slow on the bus now that the sun keeps popping his head out. We took Lucy camping again, this time with no power. So primative camping is now a reality for us. We had a great time, and love how awesome having Lucy is. Couple of nice days during the week means I have gotten time to sand and prime some more. Also in the process of building a cup holder/ basket for the center console. I'm loving my welder more and more.

Been awhile since I posted. I finally got the paint all removed and prime red up. I also got my curtains in. Next step is to fine tune the body work and then get some plastidip on her. Enough with the talking and on with the photos. I still have a dog leg to weld up so don't mind that part lol.

Well it has been awhile since I posted. I guess you can say I have been pretty lazy. I have been working a little on Lucy here and there. September will be a big for her. My dad and I will be taking out the closet and building something different. Also we will be building a different jump seat that will include cup holders into it. My dad rebuilt a new sink unit because we didn't want the icebox, and wanted more storage. I got the last dog leg welded in, and got the bumpers stripped and painted black. I got a roof rack for her too so that we have more space if needed when we go camping. The best addition so far I think are the ABS door panels I got for all the doors and the hatch. Makes life easier when you don't have to worry about wood rot. Well enough of me rambling here are the photos.

No they don't make any noise they use the stock mounting points as oem ones. They are super clean. I think the nose looks better because of the bumper. _________________ 61 Type 1 Patina

Ok so I have been contemplating paint for a while now. Wanted something different, but would work really well. I came across a process known as the $50 paint job, so I decided what the hell why not. I had a panel that way all done with prep for paint so I decided to give it a try. Let me tell you the results are very good, but it is very time consuming. I did a coat wet sanded, added two more wet sanded again. I did this until I had 7 coats on. I had coverage after about 4, but wanted to add a few more. The shine was awesome, only trouble is the way the paint dried. After talking to a buddy it the way the paint dries, and the only way to get out the blemish would be to sand down and paint again. So my wife and I started talking more about an idea we had when we first started talking paint about eight months ago. Chalkboard paint only problem is we didn't want black, did a little more research and discovered Valspar has a tintable chalkboard paint. So 3 quarts later, and a spray can of black to do the bumpers we are in business.
I took us a week to finish it up, and the results are awesome. Here in the next couple weeks, my dad is coming out to help re-build the closet, jump seat, and flooring. So not even a year later the bus will have had a full makeover. I'll keep you all posted on the interior when I start ripping it apart here in the next couple of weeks.
^this is all of the $50 dollar job all the stuff below is with Chalkboard
