I'm trying to get a few parts made for the Ghia community. This is a part that I needed for my 1958 and 1966 Karmann Ghia convertible restorations.

Here is a picture of the convertible rear seat retaining strap post. This post is correct for 1957-1967 convertibles.

I did know this.

Here is an original seat post on my 1959 convertible.

Here is the one that I'm having made.

I had these made to look as close to the original as possible. I think that if you look at the other ones that have been reproduced you will see that they are quite different Wink .

I could use a coupe body. Any plans on whipping up one of those?

I think they are being made of fiberglass in Europe somewhere. Fly over, and paddle it home.

Sorry, no coupe. How about a cabriolet with a removable hard top?

Try again...and again if necessary. Lisa often takes time to reply.

Hello,

Is this seat post correct for a '67 convertible? I am getting differing opinions on whether this was correct or not in '67. If it is, then where does the strap and strap cap attach? If not, then what is correct for a '67?

Thank you for all the help. You are all amazing and I hope to be on the advice offering end someday.

Scott

The post attaches to the top of the rear seat back. The strap and its cap attach to the rear shelf. There's a depression in the sheetmetal (along with a hole for the screw) at the spot where it mounts.
