|
|
Hello, for who has been there I like to know if a Truss Bar(Kafer Bar) will be inline or lets say in the way of heater boxes and the heater tubes that go to the ducts on the body?
Just wondering if I have to run a "Traction Bar" do to this since the Traction Bar goes under the engine were as the Truss Bar goes around the Transaxle and what looks to me in the way of the Heater Box Tubes to the Chassis...
Is this True? Thanks for ya'lls time, RB _________________
"HELP, I ported my own heads and now have fire coming out my ass" .
Yes, the truss will interfere with the heater box set up. |

I have the Bugpack kafer bar on my Super.
I had to remove the linkage arms on the driver side box in order for it all to be in there.
Now when I want heat I simply wire it open on that side. _________________ "...these cars were preferred by the racers because the strut front suspension results in far superior handling than the regular torsion bar front end..." - Keith Seume. |

If you install a midmount on the tranny, along wth good tranny mounts, you don't need the other stuff. |

I have the Fast Fab Kafer bar on my 67 with Gene Berg 1 3/4" heater boxes. Since my engine is so narrower than a 1600 (78 crank, B pistons, 5.352 rods, decked case, high comp.) I had to move the driver's side tab on the cross bar about a 1/4" to clear the heater box. I'm sure it would have cleared a slightly wider engine. _________________ John Bates

The frame horns themselves flex. Not a big problem with crummy tires but go to good tires, or get into sand, and the engine will be a jumpin |

Does the Fast Fab Bar require cutting the body near the upper shock mounts ? |

On my 67, I ground down the shock spacer enough to clear the body but it wasn't much. Maybe an 1/8th of an inch. _________________ John Bates
