Hello all. I'm on the hunt to match my existing amber brown waxoyl on my undercarriage. I'm currently working on a refresh on a 65 SC this includes spot rust treatment, primer, paint and waxoyl finish.

I have some Cosmoline in a spray can and it seems to dry gold yellow and pretty thin. I think with 20 coats I may get close to my original.

Here is a picture of the original coating.

If anyone has an idea of a thicker darker product they could recommend I would greatly appreciate it. If you have and pictures of the product in action that would be the tops

You do know that coating isn't "original", it was added by the dealer and can come in any number of colors or products. That said, actual waxoyl looks to be the same color as you're looking for.

Yes I do realize this was not a option added at the factory. If I had a total restore it would not matter what shade of waxoyl I was using. Unfortunelty I'm a sucker for punishment and my wishes are out waying my common sense.

I appreciate your suggestion on the waxoyl that's the next thing on the list to pick up and sample.
