Bravo!! Buggy's look good with period correct wheels. Just that simple. Cool

15" x 8.5" rears and 15" x 5" fronts.

What size are your rear tires? I have 245/60/15 currently and gonne reuse them for now.

Dammit! You're gonna make me spend some more money! I was looking at knockoffs today and decided that might be going too far. Then you show up with a picture of them on your car and they look great!

I got lugnuts, wheel locks and valve stems ordered today. Local "wheel and accessories" shop says they can not mount those old wheels ... but he couldn't really explain why. WTF?

My rears are 275/60/15 and fronts are 155/80/15. Sorry about the spending more money thing. Smile

Went to a tire shop yesterday afternoon to mount up the wheels. New tires up front and reuse the old tires from the rear for now. Problem: the shop could not balance the wheels on their machine. And they couldn't really explain why. Basically said their balance machine couldn't do it and I need to try a different shop.

Thats a lame excuse.
Somebody doesnt know how to balance then... Rolling Eyes .
They will need stick on weights to be dynamically balanced.
Nothing high tech or odd about your wheels..

Maybe they didnt have the weights..

Take them to a reputable tire shop that sells Kustom wheels..

Mounted. Didn't install the caps yet because I may need to try another shop to get them balanced better.

Wheels make a car.

That buggy is soooo made!

But, we are in desperate need of a 3/4, front and rear shot of the buggy to get the full effect.

Alright, alright! I hope to get her all cleaned up in the next couple of days. I'm gonna need to lower the air in the tires too. The shop inflated them all to 36 psi.

Front: 205/60/15 - 6" wheel. Rear: 245/60/15 - 8.5" wheel. I wanted a 195 for the fronts but it seems like BFG isn't making them any more.

Well crap..... I've been needing a pair of front tires. They are in good shape.. but old...
After looking and admiring yours... I was considering bout' flipin' my BFG rear white letters out and PU 195/60/15's for the front to match....
Oh well.. Ill just leave the blackwalls...Confused
Chances are.. the 60's on the front would have been too tall for me anyway... Twisted Evil

I think they still have BFG 195 in a blackwall, just not in white letters. When I checked a couple years ago they still had the 195 and All the shops I called last week still had the 195 white letter listed on their computers, but their distributor showed zero stock. Maybe they will make another run of them, but everyone I talked to said this usually means they discontinued that size.

The 205 doesn't look all that much bigger on the 6" wheel and the shop had them in stock. If I would of had to wait for them I probably would have kept the 195 I had ... but I REALLY wanted the white letters. When I need to replace the rears I may go up to 255.

Road force balance ... that's what the last shop said I needed. I spun the wheels last night to check for runout and they look great, but one of the rear tires looks way out of round. They were fine on the other wheels. Odd. So I looked closer and it looks like it may not be seated properly ... like the bead rolled under a little instead of seating against the rim. There is no bulge in the tire so I don't think a belt has broken.
