|
|
So I was driving my Thing got home, ate and went to leave again and the key wouldn't turn at all. I wiggled the wheel, flipped the key, etc. I got the cylinder and ignition assembly out. The key turns the cylinder just fine when its out of the wheel lock assembly, I put the cylinder back in and it won't budge. So I leave the cylinder in and take out the white connection piece and it turns fine again. What is my next course of action? Thanks in advance!

On further inspection here is what I believe to the culprit.
Can anyone confirm the part as Part Number: 111-905-865K

AND my wire black wire behind the dash to the coil is melted along with the light that hooks up to the alternator that flicks on as you turn the key. I have no idea what happened it was running great and then all of this just happened? |

I had a sudden (unexpected) failure some years ago. The parts are available and inexpensive and worth it. _________________ "I haven't seen one of those since I was shootin' at 'em!" |

I ordered the white ignition switch piece from busdepot, it was less than $10. I'm just curious as to what happened, I guess I need to retrace and look hard to see if there was a short somewhere. |
