I have what I believe to be a 356 engine serial number 742380. I could not find it on the chart . Can anyone help?

It is a 912 engine.

Yea my friend and I found it in a list as a 65 356 c so going to fire it up and then sell it for 5k obo. engine is complete .

The engine you have (742380) is a 912 616/36 engine, built after 356 production ended.

It is a 912 engine that will work in the same applications as a 356, but it would be misleading to sell it as a 356 engine.

It has comparable value to a 356C engine so you will be fine selling it as what it really is, a 912 engine.
