Okay i thought about starting an off road club in the northern Utah area. It would be for people that have off road cars powered by air cooled motors, or off road cars that are VW's. I thought about calling it "northern Utah air-cooled off roaders" Please tell me what you think. If it is a good idea or a bad idea. Thanks in advance! And if that is a good name or if it should be something different. |

I think that is a great idea. Some guys from Michigan did the same thing years ago. The got a pro-boards forum and a facebook page, and started gathering folowers mostly by word of mouth. Someone knew someone who knew someone.
I can personally say that having a local club is a fantastic thing. Fellow members can buy, sell, or trade parts and labor, you can have get togethers to show off your cars or drive them, you name it. Really good thing.
I say go for it!

There are a bunch of us involved with Bonneville Offroad Racing that are all in Northern Utah.
There are a couple of VW clubs, though they're not exclusive to off roaders.
I'd definitely be interested. _________________ '72 Std Beetle - 1641 CC

It sounds great. I'm in! You might want to call it VW Northern off road club, Just in case someone is running a suby or an ecotec in there Baja. I run air cooled so it does not matter to me. |

Hi Guys! There is an Off Road club in northern Utah called 'Strictly Baja Official Utah Chapter' we organize runs, BajaX events (think RallyX), works days, and gather people to support race teams and more. The group is officially for Baja bugs, but all off road VWs are invited (air cooled not a requirement). The group's page is: https://www.facebook.com/groups/352715201562333/
There are individual chapters for other states as well. The parent club is: https://www.facebook.com/groups/strictlybaja/ |

Im new to the forum, but I'd be interested in this as well. I live in West Point and recently acquired a VW sandrail in a trade.
Slightly off topic, but does anyone know if a sandrail can be registered for street use in Utah? |

I read in a regulation that the tires must be covered by a fender, so possibly if you make the proper changes _________________ 74 Baja 1600 Dual ICT |
