I like 215 70 -80s for the front on 5" or narrower rims. 235s and bigger for the rear. _________________ Richard

I
Wiring retry much well done, I was chicken and didn't cut off any wire length so had to hide it in a big black tube. But it'll do. |

Bought some rubber mat at home dot on sale for $49, 7x14 cut and fit into the bug, doesn't look bad in front but in the rear in looks kinda crappy as it just doesn't fit well. Anyhow don't reccomend it to anyone else but I gave it a whirl, and still have 7x7 feet left of the mat to play with..... |

Working on interior, applied seat covers but the fit is sloppy, going to try to add some padding to fill them out. Made door panels from thin plywood and rubber mat glued with contact cement. Also new floor mats and an 8 ball shifter. I would in retrospect buy a fitted carpet interior and good seat covers but ya live and learn. Also added a pulley cover for safety and dress up. |

i would consider moving that fuel filter....
some guys swear it is a fire hazard being that they crack and it is on the pressure side of the fuel pump it would spray fuel all over the engine if it did..... but then some guys talk about running them forever like that with no problems....just the ones that did have problems burned a car down
i relocated mine near the trans....easy to get to still
and if it breaks / cracks the fuel dumps out under the car.
i went ahead and done it since its cheap security that makes sense
but the car is really good looking ---- i might even steal the rubber matting for the doors panels from you _________________ 68 swing axle baja ( making 4x4s look stupid )

Moving the filter is not a bad idea like you said cheap insurance. I have run them on my bikes for years without any probs, but like you say if it breaks I would be screwed. |

I think the diomand black floor mat and panels looks just fine from the pics, I like it! I am always about making your own path and think that is what a baja is all about, there is no wrong or right and I applaud your creativity!! |
