On the electrical connector on a 1996 VW Jetta, the pin connector that is right next door to the distributor cap with all the wires going into it.

To disconnect it, does a person twist it, then pull out? If so, it must be stuck? I'm afraid of breaking it, or does it come off that way??

Do you know which way it turns, if standing on the driver's side facing it. Clock wise, or counter clock wise.

I doubt if it has been off since new, and is probably stuck?

I hate to think of using a channel lock pliers, but have tried by hand, with no luck.

I finally got it using a channel lock pliers. It was stuck, and heard a pop when it finally gave way. I was hoping it wasn't something more sinister, but found out it just unscrews. I gave it a good bath with MAF sensor cleaner was what I was after. Probably was never off since the factory?
