I'm driving the Type 34 thing, not the Corvair thing.

Wonderful color !
Is it possible to know the VW code for that "egg shell", or "sand", or "beige" or whatever-you-might-like-to-call-it color ?
I wouldn't mind painting the roof, pillars and rims of my 1963 1500 with that color !

Thanks, but it's not an original VW color so I don't know. My car was originally Pacific Blue (still is inside) but sometime in the 1970s the exterior was repainted (poorly!) in the current non-VW pale yellow color. Who knows -- maybe it's a Corvair color! Laughing

Maybe L12D, Shantung Yellow? I know it wasn't a T34 color, but I had a 71 Beetle years ago in that color and it's one of my favorite VW colors.

Thanks you guys !

Sure there was no such colour for T34s. The roof was either of the same colour or black (early models) or black or white pearl (late models).

In the VW range of colors I found :

Ivory, for ambulances :
http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/album_page.php?pic_id=6254

and

L19K Yukon yellow, for T1s : http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/album_page.php?pic_id=91555

that could do. I think Ivory could be the closest VW color to the "Corvair" beige color shown above ...I'll think about it.

Just from My house in Los Osos to Morro Bay, but got a good idea of how sweet it's going to be. Still stomping my left foot into the carpet looking for a clutch, but I'm getting used to the automatic. The car is very smooth and quiet - and fast! Wish I could say I'm done, but still a bunch of little things to deal with, but it's almost there - and I can drive it!

Great achievement Tom! I envy your electric sunroof (and the scenery)... Wink

I was recently contacted by a man about forty minutes from my house in response to a VW parts wanted post I had up on Craigslist. His father "did" VW's throughout the 70's and 80's and after the father passed the man wanted to see the parts go to good homes. I drove out there and it turns out he had some VERY interesting things on the shelves of his old wooden boxcar/storage unit.

I picked up some early Type 3 stuff and some Ghia stuff for members of my local club as well as some early Beetle bits for my ongoing vert project. I pointed to a seat he had in a pile of Type 4 interior stuff and asked him about it. He had no history on it and didn't know much about it. I thought it was early Type 3 but upon researching it have found it looks like a Type 34 seat. OG upholstery is in good shape, cardboard backing is great, even the padding and chrome spear is intact.

Can someone verify that this is indeed a Type 34 passenger seat?

Also, I'd like to post it on the classifieds but can't find any comparables to figure out a price. Any one able to give me an estimate on what I should price this at?

Thanks for your help! Pics below.

It IS a Type 34 seat !
I have the same in my April 1963 coupé.

In a better sahpe, though.
I had them restored last year, keeping as much of original stuff as possible.
