|
|
Thought I would show off some fun Manx Decals that I made up a while ago. Since I have two original Manx II's, I made of sheet of two styles so I could see what worked best. These are printed black on foil and sized up from the original foil decals to fit the larger Manx II hood bump. Might even try to make them a bit larger if I end up doing any other foil decals down the line.
Just wanted to show them off - THESE ARE NOT FOR SALE!!

I like the decals a lot better than the chunk of aluminum on the front of my Manx II. Don't get me wrong, the billet badges are nice, I just like the decal look better.

The foil looks good, I like the gold color. The original ones looked something like this,

Why are they not for sale? Seems kind of like teasing (or bullying) if you will _________________ If I knew what I was doing; I wouldn't be building a buggy! |

Because if they are sold, Meyers can come after him for copyright infringement, among other things. Created and use by the owner, however, is perfectly fine. |

I doubt they'd be interested as they already sell Manx 2 stickers and the plastic badge sets. They'd probably see these as being 'period incorrect'.
Who posted the thread re. the green Manx resto that pictured what seemed to be original Manx II rear badges? I can't seem to find it now but they were really neat. |

How did you print these? Did you order them? Or is there a home printer version? |

Hi Tahoeian,
I worked them up in illustrator and found a company with a "Gerber Edge" printer that can run a low number of die cut prints. The small press can output any color as well as silver foil and gold foil.
My other hobby is restoring 80's BMX bikes, so I had been recreating decals for those for a few years before deciding to whip up some custom badges for my Manx. They turned out pretty well for a first attempt. |
