I installed a while ago in my SC a set of LED from Superbright. That was not bad for about $1.5 a bulb.

I also noticed a lot of postings on forums about LED's which are much brighter then the SB once.

I did some testing to compare some of the bulbs out there.

Here is what I used.

No. 1 is the standard bulb which work with the dimmer.

No. 2 is the Superbright which is not bad, About $1.5 each, but they don't work with the dimmer.

No. 3 I found on Ebay Germany EUR 3.5o - these work with the dimmer

No. 4 New design with 3 small LED on top and 1 LED left and right. These work with the dimmer and light up the most difficult instrument, the clock, since it has the only one bulb on top.

Here is a picture with the clock and the Speedometer with the original bulbs.

Now I have also the warm white or AKA Vintage Look. I switched all of them out with the white once. I personally like them both.

I got the #4 led now available in white and warm white AKA Vintage look.

It never occurred to me to light up my dash like a vidiot game. I guess I'm just to busy looking at the road. It's analog info anyway. This might help more than super bright distracting gauges: http://pcguide.com/intro/works/computDigital-c.html

I just got the Star LEDs from the guy at www.auto-hub.com WOW what a difference. Now I can actually see my gauges and my high beam indicator. I just replaced the tired bulbs with new LEDs no modifications true plug and play! He's got different colors too. Fast shipping.

These LED's got the correct base with the Bajonet like the original bulbs, as shown in the picture.

Here the link a video clip to demonstrate how they dim. This is installed in a 914.

A set for the 911 includes 8 white or Vintage white + one spare and is $36 + 4 s/h, total $40.

The blue or green can be added for #3 each.

Actually, that really looks good for the #4 option. Good idea all around.
