Has anyone replaced the torsion spring on the front hood with modern gas springs? |

I've had some welding done the the car due to an accident, and they forgot to put the mounting points for the original hood springs back in. I was thinking a gas spring modification would be an easier and "cooler" way of doing it. |

What's the benefit?
At both of my VW 411 the factory solution worked after 47 years very well. _________________ 1958 Ghia Coupe aerosilver/graywhite

Here's the reason, not doing it to trying to improve on the orginal solution but simply cause I need to! |
