The fiberglass fenders on my Baja keep getting little star like cracks in the paint. I'm assuming its from rocks being thrown into them from the tires. Has anyone found a way to prevent this? I was thinking of using some cheap Home Depot rolled roofing that some use as soundproofing on the underside of the fenders for a cushion. The cracks in the paint don't bother me too much but when I wash the car the cracks cause the paint to chip away. I'm just tired of always repainting them.

I asked a similar question not too long ago, lol. Unfortunately, it is not just your paint cracking. Be prepared, the end is near for your fenders.

They used to make a paint additive to prevent this, I think it was called "Flexor" or something like that.

Nice thick undercoating or truck bedliner on the underside of the fenders will stop a lot of the stars from forming.

Once you get them painted, take the paint to a print shop or a sign making company. Thousands out there. Have them match the color and cut you some vinyl pieces to use on the lower part of your fender. Then you just replace the vinyl as you need to. Saves your fiberglass and your paint...
