In the seller's defense, at least they're incredibly honest with the photos. Nobody with a brain could enter into that transaction without knowing exactly what they're getting in to.
The $7800 price tag is indefensible, though. _________________ ++++++++++

Ah yes the half full mentality! Very true. But to buy that pile for that price one would be accused of being half in the bag. _________________

This is basically an outright lie:

The paint is good driver quality, there are some minor bubbles here and there, some nits and nats, but the floors are clean, the underside is nice and clean, and overall the body is very good condition. |

I really hate true unabashed flippers
Original ad had this posted for $16,900 CAD. Here is a link to a local post about it(12th post down that has a link that may or may not still work)

1974 VW Westfalia Automatic Show Quality Van For Sale.
Here is a video of the van: http://youtu.be/n2Q3_vFviwQ
Spent a lot of time and money restoring this van. She is our proud and joy, but sadly I don't have a place to park her out of the weather this winter, and so I have to sell her. At LEAST once a day someone tells me this Van is the best they've ever seen. Truly a show stopper. Plus, everyone is so happy to see you in it.
119,000 original miles
1.8 Liter 4 Cylinder engine with service records.
This is the RARE Automatic version.
Disk brakes all round.
Runs beautifully, and every day driver reliable.
Interior is in restored mint condition with the original carpets, and new upholstery.
The Westfalia canvas is original, and in fair to good condition.
Tires have tons of life left in them.
Body condition is excellent. Absolutely ZERO rust. Resprayed in April of this year, has the remainder of the 3 year warranty on the restoration work in place.
All new window and door seals.
New shocks. Steering is tight and responsive (which is a rarity in these Vans)
I just recently put in an amazing Kenwood Excelon sound system that truly brings the vibes to this old girl. Bluetooth wireless, Sirius satellite, hands free cell phone (mic is installed above the rear view mirror), and 6x9 and 61/4" Excelon speakers. Sounds incredible.
I have over $18k into this van as she sits. I am asking $16,900 obo. I realize this is more than many other vans out there, but she is a once in a lifetime van, and it's hard to put a reasonable price on that. Low ball offers will be mocked.
I will deliver anywhere in BC for free at full price. And will deliver anywhere on the West Coast (if you want to take on the fun of importing) for a negotiated delivery fee.

I could be wrong, but it sounds like it's on consignment, so not really a flip.
The text of that ad is extremely annoying though. _________________ 1976 Westy

Indeed, same guy posted a big long want to buy ad on the Airspeed forum this spring or last winter with a longwinded heart wrenching tale about how he wanted a bus so he could go camping with his daughter, blah blah blah, keep it forever blah blah. Yet the same phone number and contact names were appearing on 3-4 overpriced Samba ads whith similar buses for sale
I think that's his 3rd username here too, wasn't it Rasta something or Organic whatever before? _________________ Rust NEVER sleeps and stock never goes out of style.

At the prices the two brothers are asking for ALL their VW's, most will rot out in the yard anyway.
What's sad, is the brothers marked it up $20,000 over what they may have paid, and didn't do anything to the bus other than buy it. _________________ '76 Deluxe Campmobile |
