This is the fuel pump out of my 68 Ghia. It has a threaded inlet and a barbed outlet. Is it from a 1200? The real question....will it supply enough fuel in a 1600? I'm still not quite sure what engine I have, the AK code is a replacement case.

originally 1200 and 1500 pumps look the same but have different innards, but when you get the rebuild kit they almost always come with the 1500/1600 thicker spring so it doesn't really matter

Yes, it should not be a problem. The same pump was used on 1500s too, for a while.

AFAIK there is no spring difference between 1500cc and 1200cc fuel pumps?

The Type 3 1500/1600 pump has a thicker spring, because of the dual carbs.

hmmm it does get a little confusing with the specs, I'll check my Bentley later, I think it does say something about spring differences

Benzine? Doesn't sound like something that I want to clean with.
