This is from my 1950 113. However, I am a bit confused, because the oil filler hole is aligned with the housing, not horizontal, is I thought it would be for a non-synchro split box (crash box). It doesn't have the ribs, as on later models though.

Please post the serial number found on top of the case.

I'm guessing '52-'54 non-synchro crashbox.

The cast VW part number on the visble side is 111 301 102 (no revision letter)
There is also a serial number stamped on the top, KDS 50865

factory rebuilt late standard crashbox, the large filler hole only pointed up till the end of the split dash era, zwitter and later crashboxes have side fill holes just like synchro boxes but with smooth sides
