This is from my 1950 113. However, I am a bit confused, because the oil filler hole is aligned with the housing, not horizontal, is I thought it would be for a non-synchro split box (crash box). It doesn't have the ribs, as on later models though.

Please post the serial number found on top of the case.

The cast VW part number on the visble side is 111 301 102 (no revision letter)
There is also a serial number stamped on the top, KDS 50865 |

factory rebuilt late standard crashbox, the large filler hole only pointed up till the end of the split dash era, zwitter and later crashboxes have side fill holes just like synchro boxes but with smooth sides _________________ There is an idea of a Billmetric; some kind of abstraction. But there is no real me: only an entity, something illusory. And though I can hide my cold gaze, and you can shake my hand and feel flesh gripping yours and maybe you can even sense our lifestyles are probably comparable... I simply am not there... |
