I love your tool rack that holds your grinders, clamps and other tools. The other impressive thing (beside the quality of your work) is how clean, neat and organized your shop is.
Question, w/some of these butt welding panels together, I'm just wondering why you don't tig weld vs. mig? _________________ Contact me at [email protected]

Thanx a bunch man. Its made from a closet organizer and bar stools. Lol. And when I'm in the car or anywhere in the shop for that matter it saves tons of time.
Answers to the Tig question is only because I Dont have one in the shop. I just left two messages from CL ads tonight trying to get my hands on a unit I can afford. I have been on the hunt for a while now. I can say that the tig will not replace my mig through because its my opinion that it is just easer to use on these cars with all the tight areas. I will however defer to the Tig just about every time I'm build parts on the bench, and have good access and control like on the outside but weld on this front quarter. My plan is to have one in the shop for the new year.
P.S I haven't forgot about your hours question , its just thats more for the owner then the public. If he wants to chime in and answere it then that would be up to him. If it was my personal project, as you can see from how open I am, I would have no issue sharing that info with you. Im only respecting my clients privacy on this topic.
Thanx for all the support and engaging questions.
Real quick, do you Tig weld your automotive sheet metal projects ? _________________ ⚒ Believe In The Power Of Positive Thinking ⚒

No worries on the hours as I understand your concerns and privacy w/the owner.
I don't own a Tig either. I'm just a hobbyist and use a mig as well. I grew up using arc welders. I know when I was welding soo many panels on my then rusty vert, I wished I did have a Tig. I had a buddy who did body work and watching him Tig weld butt welds was amazing. He had so much control of the heat and penetration not to mention far less burn through and reduced grinding. Tig welding is certainly an art and some folks have a great talent for it.
The other tool I'd love to have it I did more metal work is a compression spot welder. That bus shop in Florida used one to rebuild Gerson's bar door. It made there repairs look factory and had to save hundreds of hours of grinding all the plug welds. _________________ Contact me at [email protected]

It seems that one of the most expensive parts of a restoration are all the hundreds of vice grips you need. Those things are expensive!
