I also passed out allot of Samba business cards and decals that were provided by Everett. So many people said they had been looking for just the right car. Hopefully more people back in the community.

Hmm... do I see a possible contender for a Hebmuller or Stoll Coupe replica conversion there in the foreground of the picture? Wink

And now back on topic, the VW and street rod worlds are best merged only when it comes to Volksrods, and to a lesser extent with kit cars. In all honesty, the high-end street rod realm should be kept FAR AWAY from the world of ACVWs. Look at the shameful abortion that Mid-America Motorworks wrought on a bug with their new "accessory" lineup, but with more custom body and interior work and a ton of billet, and there you have a new generation of tasteless customs.

I don't like it either when VWs get dragged into the custom-car limelight, it just jacks up prices and takes away good restoration and vintage speed projects, kit car donors and first-timer projects.

I dunno, $125K...I guess this guy really needs the money, but I thought it was kind of a charity thing to help the guy out to fix up his ride, being a nice guy, deserving, etc. Now to turn a profit?

Must be just me... Surprised

Gonna Cruise Cool

Why is no one ragging on this goofy looking abortion ???? Hot Dog Fred probably got tired of the " hey the chrome is low and also the front blinkers and the emblem belongs on the deckliid not the nose !!! Chip Foose took a very nice factory perfect style and FU&^%$d it up !!!!!

it's a custom, people do custom stuff all the time and to each his own. Look at the 80's! That shit makes me wanna puke way more than this bus. I think the bus was tastefully done and came out great, the world would get boring if everything was the same. Bunch a commies Evil or Very Mad

I, first hand, saw this guy make mirror arms for that bus that took upwards of 12 hours to design, fab and machine. He is tedious, meticulous and it was a pleasure to be beside him to learn for 7 days. You could not beat the experience. Although there are opinions out there on this bus, its not everyone's cup of tea, but if you look at the details, it is a cool bus. I hope Fred gets what he wants for it.

I DO not get why people rag on that thing. I think it's extremely tasteful and restrained, have you ever seen what chip foose does?! I mean, this thing is stock compared to most of his builds! And I admit, only two of his creations I like, this bus, and that P32 themed 32 ford thing.

Also, sorry for posting in the split forum, I'll go back and play with my fat chicks Laughing

There are some cars out there, which are simply dead. Think on "top chop" or this stuff...

This one is still okay for me Wink

Chip Foose came to Columbus Ohio courtesy of Mac Tools who is headquartered here.
The Columbus Zoo & Aquarium hosts a car show each October. The show is well attended with 4-500 cars usually showing up.
This year with Chip Foose as a draw almost 650 arrived!

So, to the question of the original post "is Chip Foose into VW's?"
He certainly seems to love them. One of Fooses picks was a really nice 63 custom. Really sharp!

He liked my Ghia too . I had him sign my Hot VW's

Even though this thread is more then 7 years old. Chip still loves VW's, for sure Cool
