What parts fit from 25HP to a 36HP? I have a 25 with a corroded crankcase. Was the 383 distributor fitted to a 36? Is the mechanical advance enough for a 36? Is the oil cooler the same? |

Iīm not an engine specialist but I would say:
The Cylinders donīt fit.
That causes the pistons, heads and the intake manifold will not fit as well.
Anything else could be used in/on both cases. _________________ Master of my domain! |

The 383 has a totally different curve than the VJ4BR8 and VJU4BR8 fitted to the 36hp engine. _________________ Glenn

Of course an engine in its original combination will run best.
But you could change them and it still runs. _________________ Master of my domain! |

So how is the advance curve in 25HP dissy different? Does it advance quicker and would be detrimental to a 36 HP? |

I used a 383 in an oval for years.
It ran and there was not a big difference noticed by me.
So that would be your smallest problem. _________________ Master of my domain! |
