How old is the battery? Sounds like a battery with a bad cell.

I went to the auto parts store and they tested the battery and alt they are good. the battery is a Interstate and only a year old. I have also checked and cleaned the ground to the battery.

Have you had it scanned for codes? Generally, even if the CEL isn't on, and the car is doing what you indicate, a scan with a competent tool like VAG-Com could reveal something. The generic OBD scanners might not show "intermittent" codes that VAG-Com will. And those are the codes that are produced with "odd" things going on.
