Trying to figure how low of a dropped spring plate I want to order. Ive seen plenty of cars with the rear stance im after, but its always by the traditional, readjustment of the torsions. So post pics of your cars on dropped spring plates, from mild to wild! And let us know how much it's dropped.

The dub lab 4.5" drop plates

I'm planning using Delrin bushings and modified Monroe 5752 shocks that I have added a bump stops to, I will be fitting them in a week or 2 so I will see how they ride.

This is the height im aiming for, Ive only driven the car once as there's still some things to do but at the high below the OE shocks are completely bottom out and there is a lot of Toe in.

All these photos were of cars with stock torsion bars and all have zero toe in.

They have toe in. They only wouldn't have toe in if you welded the springplates down so they wouldn't move.

Thanks Charles! I think I'm going 1.5 or 2 inch. With a 2332, berg 5, and recapped slicks I want it lower out back than stock, but with as little negative camber as possible.

Ace, these plates have ZERO TOE IN at steady state rest, just like any other swing axle VW out there. What you are referring to is bump toe in (commonly referred to as "bump steer") - let's not get confused again...

I would recommend that if you do not want too much camber.

Let's also keep in mind that suspension is a dynamic thing. You can have 30 degrees of toe in at a "steady state rest" and that won't make a difference compared to "ZERO TOE IN" other than cosmetic. Bumps are a fact of life in a car that is driven.

That being said, here is mine with 2.75"

With an Atomwerk plate there room to adjust to "0°" of toe in at rest - not 30°. I can't speak for anyone else's plates. Also it should be noted that toe in is not "cosmetic". It is an angle, and an angle that leads to dangerous handling unless it is zeroed out.

Let's keep this thread clean of the BS and just show the pictures. How about that? If anyone needs to visit the great debate then they should visit this thread: http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=455139&start=0

Cool! Let's keep posting pics with specs. I didn't post this thread for debates. Just a "fest" thread.

We also make drop plates for the IRS crowd (FYI we are the only manufacturers in the US who do so). Here are some pictures of Bill Hatfield's world record holding bug with our Racing Adjustable 2" IRS Drop Plates installed. He is making world records on our plates and he trusts his life with them!

4.5" thedublab plate's at 12 degrees

Looks very close to 2 outers with notched plates, I may go up a little to gain some travel but I need to finish some other things before it goes back on the ground then I can assess the way it sits properly.
