Brother ron just finished painting a bunch of parts black for the frame I laid them out and took a inventory of all the parts for the new thing to see what I had and what I needed to get, just a few more parts and I will be ready to get the chassie ready when brother gets it painted. so when the body is painted it will be ready for the summer cruises.

No wonder your attention to detail is so good; you employ it the same way with all of the parts unattached. I am impressed. _________________ Now: 2003 New Beetle Turbo S / 1990 Single Cab Transporter / 2014 Tiguan R-Line 4motion / 2013 Tiguan S / 2002 Golf GLS TDI

Nice job!
I see you hooked up the brake fluid reservoir to bleed the brakes. Will you have to bleed them again when you put the body back on or is there a way of keeping air from getting into the system? _________________ Mike B. |

as long as you don't let the lines run out of fluid you are fine |

Ron's putting on the paint next week the body goes on the chassie . This has been a long project but we just work on it we have the extra time. That's what happens when it is your own car. Next project is a automatic thing for Rons wife and then a Thing with a 928 Porsche engine for Ron hope we live long enough to finish the projects.

Out of the paint booth and setting on the frame, now all we have to do is put in all the bolts and a few more parts and it is on the road

Ron-
Did you install the Thing Shop "better than new-tougher" rear torsion bars on this car?
If so, what was your final pre-load angle on the spring plates?
I'm curious because of this hand lettered entry in the Thing Shop's re-print of the factory workshop manual:
Thanks, Mondshine |
