I may have asked this before, and if so I apologize...but allow me to ask one more time. Again, new to the forum, new VW Owner....my "65" VW Bug I recently picked up has a crank metal sunroof. I was wondering:
1. What was the first year for the metal sunroof in the Bug?
2. Are these somewhat rare or quite common?
Thanks. |

'64 was the first year for the metal sunroof. I don't think they're rare... I have a '65 with a sunroof too... _________________ Joey

Also, it depends on location. Your Ohio sunroof car is certainly more rare than similar cars sold in warmer states. I'd bet one bug in twenty in your area were sold with SRs versus one in eight steel SRs in CA. Again, pure speculation. _________________
