I might pick up a set of 40hp okrasa heads without intakes. Does anybody know if the 36hp okrasa intakes are the same or close? Or maybe if the speedwell intakes will fit?

I just traveled this road recently. The ports on a set of original 36hp okrasa intakes I have were slightly narrower than my 40hp okrasa heads. Not wanting to grind them up to port match, I picked up a set of WW intakes and was surprised to find they fit perfectly.

I was talking with the WW guys at Solvang a few weeks ago about this discovery, and they told me the intakes for their 36hp okrasa kit were actually patterned after a set of 40hp ones which explains the excellent fit.

Thanks so much. I was beginning to think my question was going to go unanswered. So the the Speedwell intakes should fit and would allow me to match port them.

I don't have any first-hand experience with the speedwell intakes but I'd be surprised if they couldn't be port matched. You're probably aware, but just in case the speedwell intakes are designed to be used with either dual Solex 40-P11s, Webers, or Dellorto carbs, not the original 32pbic's or pbj's.
