I also feel like this is a good price and a great seller to deal with. |

Although we don't see eye to eye on many things, that bus is sweeet!
It was a sweeter deal a few weeks, but the seller probably realized he can get more cash/serious inquiries listing it on the samba than locally. _________________ "There is only one sin; disconnection from self." |

I would love to know if the seller finds a person that likes the bus as much as some of you guys AND also has that amount of money AND buys it.
I wish for a SOLD bus / price / date thread or chart, to track prices over time. The classifieds are good but they could be great if they had a section that paid members could use for research. Right now if it's sold, you don't get much information. Now I call folks and pester them to get the info. If I had more info, I would better be able to price this one. |

Precisely why I've always said that it shouldn't be called a "good deal" until the deal is done! We've seen plenty of buses posted here as "a good deal" suggested, yet they sit in the classifieds for a long time. If they were such good deals they'd be gone in no time flat. _________________ Some people are so busy being clever they don't have time enough to be wise. |

People compare what known information they have. This bus was listed locally for $30K Cad and that is a 'good deal' IMO because compared to any other 15 listed (including the samba), it's in better original condition.
There's people asking $20K for rusty, non-running 15's so $30K is a 'good deal'. Someone local didn't buy it/ad was pulled.
Now it's on the samba for $38K USD (~ +12% Cad) and it's probably still a good deal for someone compared to what else is available. _________________ "There is only one sin; disconnection from self." |

The Bus above will sell no problem.
The price is good and I would not be surprised if money or a deposit is already on its way. |
I will stay tuned then and see. Thanks for the info guys. I plan on using it in time.

IDK, maybe I'm missing something? I liked this bus when it was originally listed, but I forget if the price has come down over the last eleven months. Sure seems worthy of a 'good deal' in comparison to the asking prices of a lot of the panels in the classifieds. Frankly, I'm really surprised it hasn't sold...a touch-up on the logos and some finish work in the interior and I'd roll this thing to hell and back...

Do you keep it original or repaint? I don't think the price has budged. _________________ BreckSkier

I would probably hit the OG paint with a speck of TR3 Resin Glaze to make the paint look a little less dry and have someone like Tim Leventry freshen up the logos. It's taken over fifty years for it to age into that look. No way I'd repaint that bus...

In an effort to stay on topic, why do you think that bus has gone unsold for so long? _________________

Pretty sure that bus has come down a couple thousand bucks since first being listed. Cool bus for sure. I'd say it hasn't sold because pics show it needs lots of work. Work =$$$$. Rust repair, overall paint or blending or whatever, plus logo refresh...it all adds up quick. I see it as a tricky project. _________________ '73 Westy (dual stock carbs, SVDA w/ compufire)

This looks like a good deal if:
- custom interior is not too custom
- it's a real westy and the old interior is still available.
Sucks to hear his situation.

What is a good deal on a Brazilian? It's still a 15w.... Factory made. This looks clean. Opinions? _________________ BreckSkier

That's still nearly $40k for a Brazilian bus with some weird home made seats.
I wouldn't call this a good deal, but opinions may differ |

for somebody in the UK, who can look at it in person to make sure it is what it presents to be, this might work if they like it the way it sits. negotiate a little on the price.
if you can't look at it, and need to have it shipped to the US, and you don't like the interior, seems like you should be able to find one local, maybe not cheaper, but at least you can see what you buy _________________ regards

If this is real, it is a good deal for someone in Europe. The seller is a brand new user. It is a 21 window slider.

Seems a bit strange - that bus has a UK tax disc in the window and it looks like an SSVC sticker on the side window.
Seller's location says Archen, Germany, but the telephone number has an 01747 prefix, which is in Dorset, UK. The house looks very British too - wood grain effect uPVC garage door and front door and block-paver driveway.
Clicking on the 'Map it' option on the ad goes to St Olaf, Iowa.
That's not to say that it's not a German bus in Britain, or that the owner doesn't travel back and forth, but I'd want to know more about where the bus is if I were interested in it. |
