1976 VW Bug rear bump stops

Hello I was painting the under carriage of my bug and noticed where the rear shocks are there is a round area I think where the rubber bump stops are supposed to be? I only saw what looked like to be a solid base where the bump stop should go. How do they mount on there and does anyone have a clear pic of what it should look like? Thanks
