Ah, yes......the magic tank of magic solution that you just dip it in and all the dirt flies away to the alternate universe. My employees wish something like this existed too.
Honestly, that is why I have a solvent tank. That case would take 20-25 minutes to clean with industrial solvent and THEN you run it though a high temp/high pressure parts washer with cleaning solution.
On a side note, are people really paying $125 for this service? I'll do it for $75 a case all day. _________________ Please "LIKE" us on facebook to see what we are working on.

I usually just take my cases to a local diesel shop, they have a high pressure/high temp blast cabinet. it always costs me about 20 bucks and I get it back spotless, of course though I do my diligence and clean off the hard crusted crud that build up on the out side and at the bottom of the sump but holy hell that douche bag screwed you completely... sounds like he could care less if your happy or not _________________ Schnell, SCHNELL!

The instructions that came with my parts washer said you could use diesel fuel in it. Haven't put anything in it yet because its been too cold to use it. Plan to put something in it soon but not sure what yet. Would diesel fuel cut the gunk in that sump? I've never really messed with it but I know it's sorta' like kerosene. |

Yeah he got me, but it will only happen once. Im kinda like that!
I spent quite a few hours since then and it is plenty clean now. Just need to media blast the outside to get it the way I want it. I will post pictures of the final cleanup soon.
Have a great day everyone |

Just be aware that diesel is a bit more hazardous to your health than kero - wear gloves, use in a well ventilated area, avoid contact with your skin or inhaling fumes, and of course remember the fire hazard (though it's actually harder to ignite than kero.) Apart from that diesel works great, much better than kero. and it's really cheap. _________________ There has only ever been one man who was perfect, and they nailed Him to a cross. |

I wouldn't media blast the case unless you have pulled ALL the plugs and run a gun brush through all the oil galleys... _________________ foam cowboy hats aren't good helmets. |

Well picked up the block, heads and trim from the blasters. Now I'm happy, its clean finally ! Pulled the gallery plugs for cleaning and found the threads were buggered for the pressure relief. I cleaned out the old threads and re-tapped it to 24x1.5. I the process of making a custom threaded plug now.
Start the rest of the reassembling and fitting the week I hope

Yes it really cleaned up well. I see a lot of media in the galleries that will require a lot of brushing and flushing, but I believe it will be much easier than sanding and buffing to get the same result |

Here is an update on the engine, its mostly complete other than a couple of bends in the headers. I will post the rebuild later.
