Does anyone know if they make a Ghia roll bar like the ones in the Miata's?
Or can you make it fit in a Ghia? |

Why?? Why do you need/ want roll bars in a ghia. unless you are racing it they aren't much of a use. The kg is a pretty safe car with a low center of gravity, and in the event of a roll you would probably be fine(unless vert).Plus the interior on a ghia is small and the stock on roll cage is pretty beefy, I don't imagine it would be wise to put it a ghia. But if you need it done I'm sure there are shops that can also it for you. _________________ 1973 karmann ghia - current, not the last VW.

You can do anything from a cosmetic hoop that would be period correct for a 70's convertible or you can go with a full cage or anything in between.

These guys used to list a kit for the Ghia. Might be worth a call. |

yes, this can be done. get pvc pipe, bend it with a heat gun to your liking. rattle can it with some chrome spray paint, and then screw it where your seat belts mount. _________________ 1973 karmann ghia - current, not the last VW.

Well I'd like it make one of those Miata metal ones fit. I just don't know the dimensions of the Miata compared to the Ghia.
Why do you call yourself Zodiac?
I've got something in common with the real Zodiac Killer |

Have you looked for the measurments on line? You might be able to go to a Miata forum and get some dimensions from someone. Any metal fabrication shop should be able to make those, you would just have to send it to get chrome/nickel plated or paint it if you are using steel. You could use aluminum and polish it up nicely. The Miata ones might fit with modifications but I don't know of any one here who has a Miata
As for the zodiac alias, I used it simply because my name was taken. Plus I thought it was kind of clever because it plays into vw/kg. What's that you've got in common with the 'killer' -the police don't know that you've committed a string of crimes Aswell?? _________________ 1973 karmann ghia - current, not the last VW.

His first two victims were at my house the night they were killed. They were friends of my sister

Interesting correlation. Never thought that I would have found someone affiliated the crimes.
I've sone some reading on the bars you're looking for, I can't find the dimensions for a Miata. Most shops should have a hydraulic pipe bender and a welder, should be an easy task. put sand in the pipe to prevent creasing.
Also don't try to roll it because apparently they fold over like a 'mouse trap' _________________ 1973 karmann ghia - current, not the last VW.
