Hi I am quite new to beetle's and I bought a big project, it's a rust package for a first restoration. Time will tell if I manage to finish my project and drive my 62 beetle. I would like some one to tell me the length from under the rear vents to the water channel in the engine compartment. I will try to post pictures later on.
Thanks |

And please share your comments . |

If you mean forward of the vents. Would remove the sheet metal inside the rear of the Beetle below the window and clean it all out in there. _________________ In Stereo, Where Available! |

Would it be the best solution to cut the marked area and use a new built part?

Better to open it up more so you can easily get out all of the rust inside. Then a good zinc primer, weld back together and zinc primer over the welds.
Plus the top cut line you have now is going to show the weld bead thru the vents too easily. _________________ In Stereo, Where Available! |
