The bus had lichen growing on the front of it all over. windows, lights, paint, etc.. after sitting for 7 years in my father's carport. He never non-op'ed it because he never intended to stop driving it! The darned DMV gave him the run around one too many times because the computer switch could not understand that VIN could be so few numbers and no employee would get off their butt to do some actual WORK! ...and he gave up trying. Those same bastards at DMV will not give me a break on trying to re-register the bus without paying over $700 in back fees, but at least I got it back on the road successfully thanks to info on The Samba! If I could only find a dweeb at the DMV to look at the photos to show them that it really was non-op to cut the fees a little. Cant get lichen to grow on paint without a seriously long lull in action! Anyway, makes for good pics if nothing else! |
