You mean $400
Mk1 Roccos and Jettas are getting very rare to find in the wild.

I'm surprised you didn't pick up the DD.
But then you have a lengthy list yourself. _________________ Cheers & God Bless

Sale 9:00AM August 1. I might go, it's 60 miles away. Last time I was there, he had a Binz. That's gone for sure, but that's what I remember the most. The 68 double cab was rusty, but VERY complete..
Lots of other stuff in buildings. |
I'll be interested to hear how it went, if anybody made it... |
Ron, at Services Diviersified in Zearing, Iowa:
Yes, I went. I got there a little late, (got bogged down adding freon to my 91 Vanagon- then it rained a bit and I only used the air conditioning slightly!)
RON CANCELED THE AUCTION! His EX got some kind of order to make the auctioneer to turn over the proceeds. Had to go to plan B........................

Ron still has the building and land in Zearing for sale. He sells leftover odds and ends now on eBay from his place in Colorado. His eBay user name is

well there are a couple that I know about here in Texas. There is one called Gerald Stones Garage up in Wichita Falls. He has mostly bugs, bays and some type III garbage. There is also another one that I know about down by Lampasas that has a bunch of stuff. I have saw a few splits down there. As bug as Texas is you would think there would be a few more. Maybe there is and I have just not heard about them. There is one place called Way Out Salavge in Kingston Ar that has all kinds of stuff. Do a search for them on google and their website comes up. A litte pricey on his parts but I guess he can be. About a week ago he even had three Notchbacks there and I know those are hard to find. _________________ 1961 SO-23 Westfalia

There is another mainly VW yard in Lafayette, Indiana - out on the west side of town. Haven't been by there for a couple years, but last time I was he was still up and running. He had a 21 Window that he wanted around 8K for, along w/ a few other things. The 600 series Benz was the cool ride to check out last visit. An older guy w/ a German accent ran the place. He was cool about letting me look around, not always the case anymore. Junkyards forever.... |
Are you talking about Walter? I was out there in the mid 90's. Used to stick used parts in cars and charge for new. But the yard was huge. I have a bunch of B&W photos I took out there. _________________ KK4NTP

I think this is where I got my beetle convertible... but that's been a decade ago. I couldn't even tell you how to get to this place, but pretty sure that is it... It wasn't a VW yard though? _________________ Without love in the dream it will never come true |

That's a big area!
See Chris at VW Classics Recycling, 1411 Magnolia, El Cajon, California, 92020.
Call first as he does stuff before opening the yard in the morning. Telephone 858-761-6165.
Very much as close to a VW salvage yard as you might find these days. He had two Type3s recently. I got the rear hatch arms and such off one. He cuts up stuff that isn't moving to make way for more. |
