Well, my problem is still undiagnosed but I do know it's in the transmission. You can read my other threads about the specifics on my problem but basically, my trans is jammed. I almost won't go into 1st at all, the reverse lock out doesn't work (yes the plate is installed correctly) and shifting overall is stiff and distorted. Anyways, the engine leaks oil like a course screen so, it has to be pulled and resealed and so that's when the transmission is coming out. I would like to get the trans rebuilt simply because I want as many true German parts in the car as possible and I want to keep the '70 trans with the '70 car to keep later maintenance part ordering simple. Is there anyone in the Gold Country/Sacramento area that can do a really good, quality rebuild?

Thanks. I've heard too many cheap transmission shop rebuild horror stories to have mine done to last me 100 miles. I just need it done right.

Thanks. What can I expect to spend for a complete rebuild? Should it take more than two weeks?
