Yesterday I placed several orders for my 86 Vanagon. .......One was with Van Cafe.

I got an email order confirmation at 6:44pm EST and I got a shipping Notification at 8:43pm EST !

With other big name Vanagon suppliers, I've waited up to a week for them to ship it let alone factor in delivery time!

One supplier I Hardly order from any longer due to shipping times and shipping expense!
If I can find it elsewhere, I'll buy it elsewhere though they do have many proprietary items.

Anyway........

Kudos VanCafe!

Applause

Dave

I ordered their set of coolant hoses. I unpacked the box to see what was in it and there was a big mass of bubble wrap under the hoses. Why would they bubble wrap a coolant hose. I cut it open and there was the cookie! Laughing Laughing Laughing Very Happy Very Happy

Oh yeah, they also sent it out very quickly. The last several orders I have placed I have gotten shipping confirmations the same day

yes their shipping is awesome but...

here's the kicker - you order something and the next day you want to add something else... nope..can't be done... your package is already shipped the same evening... so think hard before putting in your order...

ain't complaining you know.. hehe

Very Happy

Faster than a Vanagon, going down hill, with a tail wind.

Update.....

I paid nothing for extra fast shipping but only 40 hours after placing an order with this California based Company, I have in my hands one hour West of NYC, my completed order!

The big company I also placed an order with moments before placing my order with Van Cafe, (located across the Delaware that I can DRIVE to in less than two hours? )

Not even shipped yet!

A difference in customer service philosophy....... The PA company has delivered consistent quality products to me over the years........... Just have to wait longer for them to travel 100 miles than I do for VanCafe's to travel just shy of 3000 miles.........

Just saying............

They are the SUPREME parts supplier with out a doubt. I have been ordering from them for about 10 years now I believe, and have always had stellar customer service and prompt shipping. As a small business owner myself, i truly appreciate their business practices

I agree! I live in California and I am always amazed how fast they ship and how pleasant they always are on the phone. Oh, plus they answer the phone! I even called one time and asked to speak to Peter on the phone. He actually picked up and I think he thought I was calling to complain. I told him how much I appreciated the excellent customer service. He was very appreciative!

I used to like to buy stuff from Riviera VW in Portland OR. One time 25'ish years ago when I was in Virginia and needed some parts that I couldn't find on the east coast anywhere, I called Riviera at almost 8:00 PM eastern time. Riviera said that they had the parts but couldn't get them out that day because of the time, however when I was at work the next day and my wife got hold of me at about 10:00 AM to tell me the parts had arrived.

14 hours door to door, coast to coast is hard to beat.

I've had nothing but excellent service from van cafe. Great prices, super fast shipping, awsome customer service and a cookie, how could you go wrong with that.

I'm kinda curious if some of this is a function of how the shipping company works vs the parts supplier. For instance, I'm 2 states away from VC and my last order took 5 days to get here (I did chose whatever the cheapest shipping method was). This is certainly no complaint, I love those guys and order most of my stuff from them. I just don't know if it's fair to blame the supplier for what could be the fault of UPS.

I just ate my cookie with lunch today Very Happy

In all fairness our local East coast supplier 100 miles away shipped my order Monday...... Yesterday.......... I had it at 9am this morning! Maybe 20+hours?

Just get it in the box folks! Smile FedEx will do the rest!

As I sit munching on my VanCafe cookie...... Yet another praise for their outstanding service!

Even with the Christmas package shipping frenzy at the USPS.......

Ordered Monday at 4:20pm Eastern time and shipped by 8:20pm Eastern time ....

In my hands here in NJ Wednesday Morning at 10:30am Eastern time.!

That's what? 38 hours!

Thank you! thank you! thank you!

Dave

I find this time of year is the fastest for shipping.
all shipping companies are at peak efficiency with holiday workers abound.

even my normal UPS guy has a second 'helper bee' that runs the package to the door.
