Currently running 205/60/15 on rear and 195/65/15 on the front and looking at changing to dropped spindles a) need new king/link pins b) want to level out the car and have less fender gap. I would like to keep the same wide wheels on front but have a slimmer tyre so they dont stick out from the fender and dont rub on fenders, is that possible?

I think the wheels are 5.5 inch rims and beam is stock.

Keep in mind that most dropped spindles will kick yuor wheels out about 1/2" on each side.....I installed a set that claimed 0 offset increase and I still had that 1/2" to deal with. Pain in the ass.

Yeah, 1/2 inch each side will prob push them out past the fenders so may have to go with stock wheels but like the look of the wider wheels and dont want to shorten the beam...

Thats why I was wondering if I went with 185 at the front so the wheels would sit flush with the fenders... but could cause wheel rub.

tire is wider than the wheel now(i can see obvious sidewall bulge) so switching to 165/60/15 or something close would pull the edge back in from the track increase from the drop spindles. 175/65/15 would even put you back pretty close to where you are now as they are 20mm narrower figuring a 10mm reduction per side.

not an exact science but pretty close.

Thanks Luckystiff, I was hoping that was the case, just a change of tyres to keep the wheels and have a similar look but a car that is level and a tad lower..

Ideally I want to have it looking similar to this red one:

Bite the bullet and do a 2" narrowed adjustable and it will work really well. Did that on wifes 61 and will do it on any others that I am doing a wider wheel on. You can then run something like a 185 for good steering and braking and they dont rub or look like crap.
