Hello, after my long trip, I unpacked this morning and noticed some cracks around the gas compartment door in each corner, so I looked underneath and I noticed some rot on the front curved tube.. I looked all around the frame and fortunately that's all. My question before I attempt anything is. I know I have to replace the floor and remove the interior... do I need to remove the skin to replace the floor? I I'm sure I have to remove front skin to replace tube on frame... thanks

I wouldn't take that skin off? Rebuild your interior, but you need that skin on while attaching the new interior for the strength/fit of the trailer. The bare wood frame by itself might be kind of rickety? Exclamation

There's only a small amount of wood around the windows, the rest is metal tubing. To replace that front section of tubing you'll need to remove the skin, or at least unscrew the skin where it attaches to that front tubing section.

seems that the winter froze this thread...

my plans for this winter season are to build a spare wheel henger in the underside, to reinforce the weak piece of floor just after the door and to install the bed extension / armrest with some hinges and a piece of chain...

So... what are you going to do to your Puck this winter season??

Very Happy

I will be doing metal work on front right tube that has severe rust, which means I will have to remove the interior and floor, so in essence I may be doing a complete resto Rolling Eyes

I've been corresponding with the very nice folks at Jandi in the UK for some parts for my Eriba trailers - they are extremely helpful and have a brand new door latch that I needed. I recommend them highly as do a number of owners on the EribaUK forum.

US owners should join the UK Eriba forum - lots of great information there:

Why not store them. You may change your mind one day. Or want to sell the Puck and buyers will want those things.

Good point, I have thought about that, but I honesty do not intend on ever selling it, and I have 30 yrs of VW parts I'm trying to sell, I literally do not have the room in my garage
