Hey Guys, I sheared the idle mixture screw cap end off and tried to retrieve it only to make matters worse ending up snapping the ez out into the body. does anyone know the thread pitch for the idle mixture screw? or have any practical advice for me?

I would contact the good folks at 356 Carburetor Rescue and see what they can do for you.

As stated, 356 carb rescue should know the thread size/pitch & have good advice.

Since you have already tried & made it worse I would say a good local machine shop should be the next step. If that doesn't pan out then ship it to 356 carb rescue or one of the other carb specialty shops.

I am no fan of easy outs as they usually cause more issues as you found out. If the stud or easy out is accessible, sticking out at all, then you may be able to tack weld (tig is recommended) a nut or a washer & then a nut onto the washer to remove it. This does two things, the heat usually shrinks the broken bolt & loosens it & gives you something to grip onto. Having the easy out in there makes it worse. Try at your own risk.
