Just curious how much weight the typical VW roof rack can hold? Also, are they easy to remove?
I'm planning to autocross my 1303, and I've been trying to think of a way to get my race tires and jack and whatnot to the events.

Most racks I've seen state a maximum load of 220lbs, and they're pretty easy to remove (two clamps, one each side, hold it down to the drip rails). |

My Candy at the St Ignace Car Show. I was the only VW in the show that had almost 600 muscle cars. Folks were completely bypassing gorgeous Mustang Fastbacks and 442's to come look at the Bug and talk to me. #1 question..."That rack is so cool, is it stock?"

Had a few folks comment on my rack at the Classic a few weeks ago....They seemed to like the whole look.
