Rough and missing engine, but reasonable price for a '69 with title as long as the lower half is not rotted out. Since they partially sprayed it, it's hard to tell.

On Sunday we were driving on Rt. 611 in Bucks County, Pa. Its a nice twisty road that runs party along the Delaware river. The words just came out of my mouth "Its been at least 1.5 years since we've seen a Ghia on the road" and out of no where coming in the other direction is a bright orange 1964 Ghia, with two guys in it. They couldn't have been smiling any bigger.

Oh I know it's a hack job, they made afew prototypes but never flew. I think it's a terrible shame they cut up a type 34. On the other hand would love to have that dudes garage.

Scored this empi accessorized 64 ghia yesterday. Original empi gauges, empi sender, compensator, oil filter and the super rare empi 4 bolt header. The ghia is nice with very little rust with the battery tray the worst of it. Came with 4 anglia wheels too.

Wow, what a shame. If that's beyond your abilities I would start carefully taking it apart and post up some classifieds. The early stuff is hard to find and the lowlight guys will jump all over the dash, steering wheel and any shiny pieces that are still in ok shape.

Good find. Too bad about the body. It's pretty much toast it looks like.

I checked out this 69 Ghia. It's in very rough shape. Motor runs. I was looking for a project but this might be too much work. I found mesh/bondo/fiberglass/etc repairs all over. I think I might be better off starting with a better example.

What do you guys think? Worth saving? Should I even make an offer?

With repairs like that I hope the engine runs.. This looks like it would require a lot of time and fabrication, or deep pockets. I think it would be nice for someone to save it, and if you think you can then go for it - I found a 71 ghia in a junkyard that would probably have needed the same stuff done that was being sold for 700 -maybe 500? possibly less, I can't remember.?

That's almost certainly a parts car. The body is likely to have little to no value except for some upper cuts, the pan might be savable. The mechanical items, trim, the intruments and the glass are really all you could take from that. The doors and lids could possibly be saved also.

Hmm... maybe I'm being harsh, but the signs aren't good. It would need mountains of lower body repairs, how much free time do you have and when would you like to be on the road? If the answers are a) a few hours a week and b) this year, then pass.

As a good rule of thumb, it's best to look for a car that hasn't been previously 'repaired' or heavily modified like that one has. Rust is to be expected on a project, but I'd look for something more original that that one.

Shame, 69 is a great year!

How much is it for sale at?
