Yep, seems to be the Redline going rate for anything custom. Definitely worth shopping around to see if anything out there is available and a little more reasonable.

Sewfine also makes vinyl boot covers, might want to check them out as well.

Hi..Greetings

I never quoted you $100.00 for one..
We are in the finishing stages of most of the products that we are coming out with including a cruise control for Air-cooled vws for the long highway rides.
An AC unit that fits under the bonnet that produces 52 degrees at the vent grilles and you will not need any compressors, belts or hoses.

The lead from TTM VW Werks might be worth checking out? They have good reviews in the vendor review section, but don't look to have a website or pictures of their products to share?
Jeff

Someone in a prior post said not to look for a website because we dont have one and that is true but there is fella here in Fort Lauderdale area that is about to go live with a website that will have innovations for the Aircooled VW

The site will be called: www.VWAirCooledSociety.com

Bookmark it and when it goes live you will see a lot of neat inventions/innovations for our Air-Cooled VWs

Here are the custom one of a kind Leather Shift Boot and Leather Ebrake boot
Much better quality than the Redline and a better price.

With the shit boot you simply loosen the bolts and with a putty knife tuck in the leather underneath the plate and then tighten

The Ebrake boot can either be tucked underneath the carpeting or you can velcro it on top however you prefer. Preferably this boot is for people who no longer use heat exchangers so the heater levers are removed.

Colors Available: Tan, Black, Grey, or Off White so you can paint to match your color interior

We don't typically allow ads in the Forums but this is one exception where someone asked where to buy something and a member has it available.

Please contact him privately or through his ad in the classifieds as posting buyer emails in the Forums is discouraged to prevent the Forums filling up with these sort of private messages.

Thank you.

Why no other colors? That e-brake boot looks very nice, but the color-change via spray bomb isn't working for me. That light tan seems like a odd color for your primary offering. For a tan based interior theme it would be great, but not so much when everything else is black and dark gray!

I have used the vinyl paint before and it does cover well, and with patience, looks good.

But, with flexing use, it tends to peel and flake off. Good for door panels, not so good for seats that flex, or IMO, a shifter boot that will get flexed a lot.

That stitching looks sweet!

Wolfgang,
Am I reading your post correctly - you're saying the boots are available in black leather too? And this is not painted light tan leather?

If so, can you send me some details on the parking brake boot? I'll PM you for the information I'm looking for.
Thanks,
Jeff

Sorry, I had to edit the information because it was incorrect. The manufacturer and in this case the designer of the boots had given me the incorrect information and I felt in my obligation to correct it.

I had offered the boots at $34.00 each but it turns out that the shift can be at that price but the ebrake boot is more labor intensive and thus the price is higher.

$89.00 for both with free shipping is a fair price given that the other ones produced by Redline are very poor

Here is the comparison between theirs and ours.
Redlines is very flimsy as you can see by the following photo:

Now look at ours
It is a heavier leather plus better made and the stitching is important as well as presentation. If you are building a show bug which most people do even if the original intention was not to they end up anyway.

In the end it doesn't pay to compromise on quality unless you have a ratrod or you really don't care about what goes into your ride.,

We have not received your PM

I have not heard back from you concerning the ebrake and shift boot.
You said you want it in black leather. Take advantage of the low price because after the holidays the price will go up

$89.00 for both pieces
