I noticed that the folks over at the Old Timer Speed Club were able to obtain custom gears for their split case tranny http://www.oldtimeroldspeedclub.com/2010/12/christmas-is-early.html. Does anyone know how to obtain non stock gears?

i asked albins about custom 4th gears last week.

about A$2000 for a one off set

or

about A$750 per set for a run of 10 sets.

and that is just the gears, we would have to reuse our own syncro hubs.

I have also made an enquiry with dave folts if it is possible to cut and splice something but haven't heard back yet.

If it's an e-mail enquiry, forget it. You need to call and talk to him personally.

hi paul, that was the price the guy who does the design work gave me over the phone. Shocked
I knew it wouldn't be cheap but at that price I'm not following it up, I just can't imagine there are 9 people willing to spend $750 on a single gear set to make it feasible. (+ I don't have $750 for a set of gears either, let alone the money for a full run)
